Ted Saunders

Edward "Ted" Arthur Saunders was born April 29, 1941 in Carnwood, Alberta on the family farm, the youngest child of Agnes and Victor Saunders. He passed away in Ponoka, Alberta April 26, 2016. He attended school at Liberton and Lindale until grade 8 when he started working with his family on the farm. He lived a quiet life and resided with his parents until his father’s passing in 1989, and his mother moved to the Breton Lodge in 1995. He remained on the family farm in Carnwood, farming and running a sawmill until he moved to Ponoka in 2013. He enjoyed visiting with neighbours, the annual gymkana in Lindale and attending farm sales.

He is survived by his brother Joseph (Donna) Saunders of Calgary and sisters Phyllis Burr of Spruce Grove, and Audrey Kwast of Leduc. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Victor in 1989, his mother Agnes in 1998, brother Jim Saunders, brothers-in-law Del Burr and Otto Kwast, sister-in-law Rose Saunders, and two great nieces Debra Grouette and Toni Clark.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Lindale Hall on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with the Interment Service following at the Carnwood Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Carnwood Cemetery Fund or to a charity of your choice.
