Hi,

I just learned of your passing moments ago (it is now June 2019.) I bought Martin's metal detector from him in 2011. We immediately hit it off and kept in touch from then until mid 2015. I visited him at his home a few times over those years. He always welcomed me and I enjoyed our visits, telling rock hunting stories. I gave him some tips on where to find ammonite in southern Alberta and he went there in the summer of 2015 and was successful. He sent me photos of the fossils he found and the next time I stopped in, sometime in mid to late 2015, he gifted me two of the pieces he found. I had emailed him once again in 2016 and never heard back. Today, I am saddened. Thanks for sharing the passion of rocks with me Martin. I considered you a friend. Cheers to your family and may you rest in peace. Rogan.

I will surely miss your company hiking the hills on our gold claims. But as you said, I will continue living a good life and we will see each other again.
