To Cliff's Family,

I express my sincere sympathy at this difficult time of Cliff's passing. I retired from Chevron and left Kazakhstan several months ago. It is here that I worked with Cliff. Over a three year period, Cliff and I developed a close relationship. He is a special person who always gave 110 percent efforts. I will always remember him as a hard working gentleman. He is a special friend to me.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you will receive comfort and a confirmation that Cliff has gone home to a well deserved rest where we will all see him again someday. He may not have been able to enjoy a mortal retirement, but he will certainly have a Heavenly one that will be rich with many well deserved blessings.

Best to you all,
Jack Bailey

My condolences to Cliff's family,
I worked with Cliff from the early days in Kazakhstan when there was not so much paper work but just get the job done approach. Cliff's strength was here and we always talked about it when we met in the last couple of years. He had some great stories which made everybody laugh. He saved a lot of fingers, eyes, etc of young drilling hands over the years by watching them over the shoulder. He was a real people manager with his hart in the right place.

That his soul may rest in heaven,
Cas

I worked several years as Well Operations Manager in KPO-Kazakhstan and In several occasions I had the opportunity to meet Cliff in the rig and in the office. I have always appreciated his kind and compassionate behaviour in any situation and his capacity to be calm in any difficult moment. His cooperation and his proactive attitude were remarkable. A reliable person. I feel sorry he couldn't enjoy his well deserved retirement. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I met Cliff the very first day I arrived in Aksai and I have to say we did not have a good start together. I was working for KPO and he was working for Parker the KPO drilling contractors and......well there were some difficult days between the two companies. With time I got to know Cliff better and I started to appreciate him for his full dedication to the job and Parker company and for his never ending energy. I am glad I have had the opportunity to know and work with Cliff. Rest in piece Cliff and keep an eye on us from where you are. Francesco

Dear Julie and family,
Cliff was a work colleague and also a friend, not only to me, but to many people who he met over the years in different parts of the world. Wherever he worked, Cliff made friends. From the roustabouts to the drilling managers, everyone knew Cliff. Often people would seek him out for his advice. He freely offered his advice, leadership and friendship to everyone.
In 1998, I first met and worked with Cliff at the Daewoo Shipyard in South Korea. From there we moved on to Sakhalin Island, Russia and then later to Kazakhstan where he spent 15 years. Not many people get to stay on the same project for 15 years so it shows how well he was liked and the quality of the work Cliff gave every day. As word of Cliff’s passing spread across the field, sadness set in and stories were told of how he helped so many. Then more stories were told and the smiles returned, happy memories of a good friend.
Our grief and sadness cannot compare to yours, but please find comfort in knowing Cliff will not be forgotten by his friends around the world. His smiling face and booming voice are embedded in our memories forever. He will not be forgotten.
Thank you Cliff.
