Celebrating The Life of Joe Tradler
Joe Tradler of Bashaw, formerly of Daysland, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Tradler, daughter Jeannette (Trevor) Smolski and three grandchildren, and son Alan Tradler. He is also survived by brother Frank (Theresa) Tradler, brother-in-law Ed Holland, and sisters Rosalie (Brian) Hagstrom, Annette Houle, Betty (Marvin) Megley, Della (Alan) Gibeault, and Linda (Maury) Watkins and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father Joe Tradler and mother Rose Tradler and sister Mary Holland.
Joe married Betty in 1962 and they lived in Daysland while starting their family until they moved to Bashaw in 1969. He started Bashaw Auto Service with his brother, Frank. They grew a business that valued quality workmanship and honest dealings with customers who became friends. In 1986 Frank sold his half of the garage to Dave Kopas and in 1990, Joe sold his half to Dave as well. In 1992 he purchased Frank’s Propeller Repair from his brother, Frank until he retired. He loved playing his guitar and singing by the campfire, fishing, boating, and hunting.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Bashaw Community Centre at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
