Irene Bernice Jevne

The family of Irene Jevne announce that she passed away at Wetaskiwin, Alberta on November 28, 2016. Two months after her 92nd birthday.

Irene is survived by her sons, Dale (Colleen), Glen (Pam), Ken (Cheryl), Randy (Barb); 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Bill & Ellen McClelland; brothers, Ken and Gordon; husband, Ralph; daughter-in-law, Louise.

Irene was born in Tuxford, Saskatchewan and was raised in nearby Moose Jaw. As a young adult, she worked in Ontario at a plant making armaments for World War Two. She later moved to Vancouver, where she met Ralph through a mutual friend. They married in 1951 and moved to a farm in Ralph's home community in the Vang district near Wetaskiwin, in 1955. There, they raised four boys in a noisy, happy home.

Irene will be sorely missed by her family, but we know she will be happy in Heaven.

Thanks to Dr. Schlenther and staff in Unit #43 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital as well as Irene Haagsma and the staff at the Good Shepherd Home.

A memorial service will take place in the spring and the family will make notifications for when that will be.
