Bill was born on the family farm in April of 1942 with his grandmother as midwife while the others planted potatoes.
He took grades 1 – 8 at Halfway Grove School and Sylvan Heights School, then grades 9 – 12 in Ponoka, staying with his grandmother for a couple years. Then he graduated as valedictorian from Olds School of Agriculture. He raised his family on the farm loving the independence and variety of the farming and ranching way of life. Bill especially loved being out in God’s amazing creation. He trusted Jesus as his Saviour and never wavered, regularly studying God’s Word and listening to Back to the Bible on the radio.
Son of Calvin and Agnes, Bill was older brother to Ted, Ed and Mary, and younger brother to Jim; Dad to Chris, Quintin, and Kathy; Papa to Calvin, Kimberly, and also Kinsley and Dallon; and faithful and dedicated husband to Lynda through all their 58 years.
This world was not his home and on June 23, 2025 on the family farm God’s good and faithful servant, passed through this old world to his promised home way beyond the blue.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of the Open Bible in Ponoka at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 with the Interment Service following at the Dakota Cemetery.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Samaritan's Purse or the Alberta Country Gospel Oprys (Box 4361 Ponoka, AB T4J 1R7).
