William Eugene Toporowski

William Eugene Toporowski was born in Swan Plain, Saskatchewan on January 13, 1942 to Mike and Mary Toporowski.  He grew up on a farm southwest of Swan Plain with his siblings Victor and Adeline.

William married Sylvia (nee Protz) in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on June 15, 1968.  He later went on to finish his Journeyman Pipefitting apprenticeship and made this his lifelong career.

William and Sylvia had three children, Sheila, Darcia, and Billy, and raised them in Killam, Alberta.  They remained there until they moved to Ponoka in 2007.

William had a love for anything outdoors and was an avid sports fan.  He loved to watch his grandchildren play minor hockey and baseball, and also enjoyed casting a line in the water whenever he had a chance.  He could often be found talking hot rods with his grandson Braeden or shining up his own ride.

He was preceded in death by his father Mike Toporowski; his cherished mother Mary Toporowski (nee Shewchuk); infant brother Eugene; and younger brother Victor Toporowski.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Sylvia and their children Sheila (Jon) McNalley, Darcia (Dale) Enns, and Billy (Mandy) Toporowski; his sister Adeline Sunduk,  his grandchildren Nathaniel, Madison, Braeden, Tatum, Riley, Corwin, Kaeden, and Warner; and numerous other family and friends.

Due to the current restrictions, a private Funeral Service is being held.  The service will be live-stream broadcast from the Ponoka Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 and the recording will remain for 90 days.  The video viewer is located at the bottom of this obituary page.  The Interment Service will follow later that day at the Leduc Cemetery.
