Violet Konkolus was born in Wandering River, Alberta, on April 7, 1933, and passed away peacefully in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, on July 9, 2026 at the age of 93 years.
Violet is survived by her sister, Katherine Goruk of Red Deer, Alberta; brother, Roy (Judy) Shupenia of Smoky Lake, Alberta and her step-son, Kevin McIver of British Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudy Konkolus; parents, Humphrey and May Shupenia; brothers, Jim Shupenia and Bill Shupenia; sister, Natalka Barnes and step-daughter, Linda.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ma-Me-O Beach Community Hall (615 2 Ave, Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta), with details to be posted in the coming weeks. Interment will follow at the Lakedell Cemetery.
Violet was loved and cherished and will be missed by many family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cross Cancer Institute (11560 University Ave, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2).
