Vera (Dyck) Janzen

Vera Janzen, age 82, of Leduc, Alberta, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025.

Born in Coaldale, Alberta, on October 7, 1942, Vera lived a life marked by grace, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family and faith. She was a gentle soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Vera was predeceased by her first husband, Dave; her son, Richard; and her second husband, Ike. She was also predeceased by her parents, Frank and Marie Dyck of Pincher Creek; her sisters, Ann and Alfrieda; her brother, Dave; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth; and her brother-in-law, Fred.

She is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Dave), Barb (Reg), and Kay (Jeff); her grandchildren Kendra (Matt), Wyatt (partner Ashley and her child Tyson), Sadie (partner Rocky), Beth (Chad), Kelsey (Taylor), Brent (partner Tarah and her child Akauna), Mackenzie, Jackson, and Levi; and her great-grandchildren Wacey, Raleigh, Adeline, Eve, Jasper, Carver, Layton, Evelyn, Anika, Lena and Aleczander.

Each of them carries a piece of her spirit—her compassion, her resilience, and her joy in life.

She will be remembered for her love of gardening, her passion for traveling, and the adventurous spirit that led her to embrace new experiences with curiosity and courage. Whether tending to her flowers or exploring new places, Vera brought beauty and wonder into the lives of those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Heartland Alliance Church in Sherwood Park, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
