Vera Docken Obituary

Vera passed away peacefully with Brenda, Larry and her dear friend Denita by her side on May 4, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

Vera is survived by daughter-in-law Nadine; three brothers Bob (Georgie) Grierson, Larry (Karen) Wolansky, Ron (Michelle) Wolansky; two sisters Brenda (Leonard) Rufiange, Bonnie (Mike) Fines; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; as well as many great friends and relatives.

She was predeceased by her father Robert Grierson; her first husband Eldon Maerz; mother Vivian; sister Hazel; Joe (Dad); husband Alfred; and son Wade.

Vera loved people and socializing, which led to her many years of enjoyment working at the Leland Hotel...so many stories.

She touched many lives with her love of rodeo, Elvis, camping, family reunions, and holidays with family and friends.

Vera’s passing leaves many saddened hearts, but there is no more pain and suffering.

Memorial donations in Vera’s name are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
