Velma Stengel
1927-2023

Velma Stengel passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 at the age of 95 years. Velma is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gayle; daughter-in-law, Angela; grandchildren, Jon, Nathan (Karen), Timothy (Lindsay), Ashley (Nick), Matthew; great-grandchildren, Finn and Charlie; also by her brother-in-law, Art; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Evelyn,  as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Velma was predeceased by her loving husband, Adolph in 2010 and her son, Gary in 2022. She was also predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Paulina; son-in-law, Robert Coxford; other in-laws; all of her siblings,  Alex, Ed, Herman, Emil, Carl, Martha, Gussie, Dan, Lydia, Bertha, and Christina, and three infant siblings. 

Velma and Adolph lived on the farm west of Millet until 1975, when they built a house and moved to Wetaskiwin. Velma enjoyed her community, her church, and especially her family.  She was always a gracious host, hosting many extended family dinners throughout the years. She will be greatly missed.

Interment will take place at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Service to follow at the Wetaskiwin Zion Lutheran Church (5417-40 Avenue)  at 2:00 p.m.
