Theodore 'Ted' Kijewski Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theodore 'Ted' Kijewski of Mulhurst, Alberta, on December 1, 2024 at the age of 90 years.

In addition to having his own oilfield service business and working in the oilfied industry most of his life, he was a very dedicated member of the Lion's Club, and loved going to the Lion Cavalcades in their camper/van. His love of music brought a tremendous amount of joy not only to him and his family, but to many people in nearby communities where he sang and played guitar and harmonica in numerous retirement homes.

Ted will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Darlene; his children, Karen (Randy), Bonnie (Kerry), Teresa (Barry), his 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Marion;  sisters-in-law, Fern and Gloria and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Ted was predeceased by his son Jerry and daughter, Janet/Jamie Smith; his parents, Mathew & Helena Kijewski; sisters, Stella Bigelow, Anne Cross, and Irene Ness; brothers, Cecil, Stan, Joseph, Henry and Harold; brothers-in-law, Sid Bigelow, Ralph Cross, Don Ness and Bob Beaver and sisters-in-law, Lynn Kijewski and Doreen Kijewski.

A Memorial Service will be held in Ted's honour at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sagebrush and to the doctors and nurses at the Wetaskiwin Hospital for providing care and comfort for Ted and for always treating him with dignity and respect.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wetaskiwin Medi Lend Society (c/o 135 Spatinow Drive, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 1W3).
