Sydney Ronald Boukall

On September 27, 2021 Mr. Sydney Boukall of Ponoka passed away at the age of 91 years.

Born and raised in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Sid moved to Calgary to join his brother in the shoe store business. It was there that he met and married Alice, and together they raised five children. Over the years, they lived in Vancouver, Red Deer, Leduc, and finally Ponoka, where Sid worked up to retirement at the County of Ponoka. Wherever they lived, they made long-lasting friendships - many through the church community. His friends knew Sid to always have a joke up his sleeve! Throughout his life, he enjoyed many pastimes and hobbies, including square dancing, camping, card games, woodworking, birdhouse building, winemaking, and artwork. He was devoted to his faith, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, for years.

Sid will be remembered by his eldest son Bruce (Giulio) and his youngest daughter Lisa (Larry); six grandchildren: Jason, Melissa, Joel, Jennifer, Jared, and Ethan, and their families; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Alice; son Barrie; daughter Brenda; daughter Janice; great-grandson Jacob; parents Josephine and Stanley; his brothers Leonard and Elgin; and his sisters Adeline and Winona.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to The Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada, or a charity of your choice.

Due to the current restrictions, a private Funeral Mass is being held at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Sid’s family would like to thank the staff at Rimoka Lodge for their compassionate care for Sid while he was a resident there.
