It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Donald Minchau, age 47, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at his home in Edmonton. Steven was born in Wetaskiwin on January 19, 1973. He was a heavy-duty mechanic for most of his adult life and loved his trade. He was an avid pool player, enjoying league play and tournaments. All things Star Trek and sci-fi interested him and fed his imagination. He had a huge heart and was so generous to all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn, his parents, Don and Monica Minchau of Wetaskiwin; his paternal grandmother, Frieda Minchau; aunts and uncles, Venita (Glenn) Worbeck, Wendy Martin, Connie (Brian) Maygard, Lori Minchau; cousins, Melissa (Brad) Berg, Ryan Worbeck, Holly Martin (Ali), Tanner (Jordan) Maygard, Courtney (Marcus) Willshire, Casandra Escobedo; God-son, Bentley Willshire as well as numerous extended family members and many friends..
He was predeceased by his sister, Pamela; grandparents, Edward Minchau and Bernard & Elsie Stadel; uncle, Werner Stadel as well as his aunt, Cindy Stadel.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery where Steven will be laid to rest with his sister, Pamela. Those that may have difficultly standing, please bring your own lawn chair. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alberta SPCA or charity of ones choice.
