Stanley "Stan" Frederick Humbke
Stan was born February 4, 1935 in Wetaskiwin, AB and grew up on a farm in the Haultain District. Over his life he was a farmer, equipment operator, Class 1 driver, mechanic, licensed welder, seismic driller, Industrial Arts Teacher, adult educator, gold miner, truck wrecker, inventor, and junk dealer.
He met his wife Anneliese in Wetaskiwin and they were married in 1963. They moved to a farm in 1971 near Cloverlawn Hall where they raised three children and lived until 2023.
When Stan accepted the gift of salvation in his mid-30s it changed his life. He had an active faith as demonstrated through love, service, and generosity. Stan and Anneliese prayed faithfully every day for their family and the people in their lives.
Stan deeply loved and was proud of his children, grandchildren, and extended family.
People were very important to Stan and he enjoyed visiting and telling stories. If a group of people were gathered and laughing he was sure to be in the middle of it. He had an incredible memory and sharp wit.
On December 3, 2025 Stan Humbke passed away at the age of 90 years.
Stan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Anneliese; children, Linda (Dean) Ervin, Tim (Corinne) Humbke, and Susan (Konrad) Augustson; grandchildren, Emily Ervin, Gabrielle (Oliver) Isaac, Shaeleigh (Mahmoud) Kalousa, Avery Augustson, Joely Augustson, and Chase Augustson; brother Leonard Humbke and sister Elaine Wiberg as well as numerous extended family members and many friends.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Ruth Humbke; sister Louise Johnson; sister Shirley White; and brother Ronald Humbke.
He will be remembered for his love, faithfulness, strength, kindness, integrity, loyalty, sense of humor, intelligence, determination, and generosity.
In Stan’s memory, donations are gratefully accepted to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
