Shirley Lynn Miller was born on December 26, 1948 at Prelate, Saskatchewan and passed away on December 2, 2025 at her home in Ponoka.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Curtis Miller; and her son Michael Miller along with his 3 boys: Tristin Kuel, Blake Miller, and Logan Zimmer.
Shirley grew up on the family farm at Hays, Alberta. She had a great love of animals and enjoyed 4H Club in her younger years. Softball was one of her favourite activities. She always had time for a game of cards. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors and camping with family and friends. She spent many days at the hockey rink with Michael and later on watching her grandsons play. A good night out dancing was high on her list. Shirley spent many years doing office work. She was overjoyed when we finally got our own farm. She could do anything from fixing a fence to pulling calves when help was needed. Every place she lived at always had fantastic flower beds.
Shirley enjoyed playing Bingo and even won enough one day to take us on a Mediterranean cruise. In retirement we spent 5 winters in Palm Springs where she made many friends. Her home cooking was always enjoyed by family and friends and will be missed.
Shirley was predeceased by her son Monte Elliott Miller; sister Doreen; brother Garry; and her parents August and Mary Glasser.
A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ponoka.
