It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Ross Vant, who left us far too soon. Shawn was born on February 21, 1970 and passed away on September 24, 2025 with his family by his side.
Shawn was a bright, adventurous, talented rodeo cowboy, and a kind hearted, hardworking individual who lived his life to the fullest. He had a deep love for creating and building log furniture, and a huge love for riding bareback horses and bulls across Canada and the United States. His hands were never afraid of hard work, and he believed in earning your keep, standing by your word, and cherishing those close to you.
He will be forever cherished and lovingly remembered by his two children, John Wyatt and Piper Layne; parents, Peggy and Bob Robinson; sisters, Jill (Jim) Lowry and Margy (Lee) Roworth; stepsisters, Lori (CW) Green, JoAnne (Robert) Hoff, Cara (Phil) Page and stepbrothers, Duane (Vicky) Robinson and Bruce (Cathy) Robinson. Shawn was predeceased by his father, John Vant, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Shawn's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Wetaskiwin AG Society. True to Shawn's wishes, those attending are welcome to keep their hats on throughout the service.
