We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Bashaw Funeral Home Ltd.
It is with incredible sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest Shawn Bennett of Bashaw on July 24, 2022, nearly 2 months after his 30th birthday. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. Shawn was baptized in the name of the Lord, and was a gift from God to Wanda and Clarence Brokopp.
Shawn is survived by his brothers Donnie (Erin) and Darris (Shelena) Bennett, and Jodie (Kristine) Brokopp; sisters Lisa (Dan) Duperon, Nicole (Darcy) Benoit, and Jackie (Robin) Holt; and his incredible Aunt Yvonne and Aunt Freida. He also leaves behind 16 nieces, 5 nephews, and a plethora of cousins who all admired him dearly.
Finally, the family would like to extend their utmost gratification towards everyone’s generosity, “We are forever grateful and don’t know what we would do without you”.
A special thanks to the staff of the BC Coroner’s Service, the RCMP, Bashaw Victim Services, the Bashaw community, and the Bashaw Funeral Home for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Thank you.
A Viewing & Visitation will be held at the Bashaw Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022. At 1:30 p.m. "The Last Ride" (Town of Bashaw loop x1) will leave the Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bashaw with snacks and socializing to follow. We would like to invite you to either dress in Plaid, accessorize with a red bandana, or ride in on your Motorcycle.
