Shane was predeceased by his brother, Junior Yellowbird; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Jenny Buffalo; paternal grandfather, Norman Yellowbird; aunts; Sandra Yellowbird and Beatrice Samson; uncles; Alec Yellowbird, Sykes Yellowbird, and James Anhorn; cousins; Kenton Yellowbird, Raven Buffalo and Tyler Yellowbird.
