Shane is survived by his common-law, Junelle Desjarlais; daughters, Olivia Buffalo, Rhaenyra Buffalo-Roan; sons, Jaxon Buffalo and Bryden Buffalo; mother, Ranee Buffalo; siblings, Branden Buffalo, Hunter Buffalo-Bannister, Kenneth Buffalo-Bannister, Cash Buffalo-Bannister, Darius Crier; adopted brother, Chris Jr. Soosay; sisters, Skylar Buffalo and Tenneah Stoney; the mothers of his children, Jodi Greene, Brianna Moonias and Raven Roan.

Shane was predeceased by his father, Edison Stephan Peter Lightning; maternal great-grandparents, Olive and Stanley Buffalo, Francis and Annie Lightning; uncle, Brad Omeasoo; best friend, Aaron Montour; uncles, Lance Cutarm and Ricky Buffalo; nephew Baby Buffalo-Potts.
