Scott Richard Kanngiesser

It is with profound sorrow and shock that we announce the passing of Scott Richard Kanngiesser on January 22, 2025, at the age of 55 years.  

Scott was born January 11, 1970 to Edgar and Marilyn Kanngiesser in Lacombe Alberta, where he was raised and went to school.  He graduated in 1988 from Lacombe Composite High School, and in 1990 he graduated from SAIT with his Power Engineering.  

Scott had a love for the outdoors: fishing, hunting, dirt biking, and camping under the stars, and sharing stories around the fire.

Scott met the love of his life, Sora, in 2000 and they were married in Slovakia in 2003. In 2005 they welcomed their first baby boy, Dayn. Sadly the same day he passed away.  In 2007 Talia Drahomira arrived, and in 2009, Taner Scott joined the happy family.  Scott loved his family immensely; they meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife Sora Kanngiesser; his daughter Talia Kanngiesser; son Taner Kanngiesser; father Edgar (Judy) Kanngiesser; brother Chad (Heather) Kanngiesser; twin brother Craig Kanngiesser; sister Lana (Craig) Knight; nieces and nephews Gavin (Trisha, Leo) Kanngiesser; Kelita (Nick) Kanngiesser, Jaedyn (Reid) Knight, Taryn Kanngiesser, Alyssa (Danny) Kanngiesser, Alexa Knight, Brett Kanngiesser; and Taven Knight; uncle Norm and aunt Jean Kanngiesser; step-sister Gayle (Jason) Kloster and her children Lindsay, Austin, and Max; step-brother Dwayne Dool and his son Donovan; mother-in-law Kveta Bistrancinova; father-in-law Stan Sorokac; brother-in-law Stan Sorokac; sister-in-law Renata (Patric) Studenic; brother-in-law Steve Bistrancinova; nephews-in-law Mark Studenic and Stan Sorokac; as well as numerous cousins and friends. 

Scott was predeceased by his son Dayn Kanngiesser and his mother Marilyn Kanngiesser.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations in Scott's honour may be made directly to Lana, In Trust Knight, at any ATB location (for Talia and Taner’s Education).
