It is with great sadness and with great love we say goodbye to a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt.
Ruby was the daughter of William and Blanche Lainchbury. Ruby was predeceased by brothers Clifford, Gordon, Arnold and Merton Lainchbury. Ruby was survived by brothers Denis and Norman Lainchbury, and sisters Gladys Kinsman and Myrtle Governor.
Ruby was born at Bittern Lake, AB and attended the Harvest Home School. She married Lionel Udenberg on November 20,1946 where they started out farming north of Gwynne. They had 3 children: Donna Jamieson, Terill Udenberg and Valerie Nielsen.
Ruby had 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Ruby played ladies' soft ball on the Red Wings team at Crooked Lake and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed curling, sewing, knitting, gardening, and preserving fruits and vegetables.
Ruby and Lionel traveled to many destinations around the world and lived in many places in Alberta; they lived in Hay Lakes, Blackfalds, Red Deer, Lakedell, Wetaskiwin, Rosebriar and Fort Assiniboine. They also lived in British Columbia in the communities of Grand Forks, Osoyoos, and Cranbrook.
Ruby’s wishes were for a small family gathering at the Crooked Lake Cemetery, which is scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
