Ruby (Bengtson) Gist

Ruby Gist (Bengtson) was born on July 10, 1929 in Hoadley, Alberta, and passed away on November 22, 2025, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, at the age of 96 years. 

Ruby is survived by her children; Daisy Besler, Tom (Margaret) Gist, Bryan (Phyllis) Gist, Wayne (Shawna) Gist and Donnie Gist; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Bengtson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Gist; son, Randy Gist; son-in-law, Stan Besler; parents, Anders and Dorit (Babe) Bengtson; sisters, Pearl (Neil) Holmes; Beatrice (Ron) Nagel, and infant brother, baby Hugh. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Lakedell AG Society. Following interment, Ruby will be laid to rest alongside her husband Jack at Hegge Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow at the Lakedell AG Society. 

If desired, donations in memory of Ruby may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital or the the Good Shepherd Home 'Hansen House'.
