Ronald Frederick Prediger

Ron passed away peacefully on May 1, 2021, in Red Deer, Alberta. He was predeceased by his father Joseph; mother Ida; his three brothers Gordon, Elmer and Jack; and one sister Norma. He is survived by siblings Jannette, Geraldine, and Bruce. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Joan, and his children Lori (Jeff Markowski), Kevin (Dr. Carolyn Fleck-Prediger), Dennis (Dana Prediger), and Diane (Jason Cline) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, Godchildren, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. 

Ron was best known for his kind smile and gentle hugs. Ron’s passions were farming and family. He also loved outdoor pursuits like hunting, fishing, and working with horses. His true purpose was to enrich the lives of his family and friends with his leadership, humor, generosity, resourcefulness, faith, and wisdom. He was a devoted family man and a valued friend and mentor. We will forever treasure his mischievous sense of humor, his huge heart, and our shared love. Donations in memorial of Ron can be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society.

Due to the current restrictions on funeral services and public gatherings, a private family funeral service is being held at the Ponoka Funeral Home.  A live-stream broadcast of the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 and the recording will be available to be viewed for 90 days on this website.  The viewer is located at the bottom of this page.

NOTE:  The Horse-drawn Hearse will be leaving the Prediger farm at noon and will travel to the Ponoka Funeral Home (arriving around 1:30 p.m.) should you wish to pay your respects to Ron along the route.
