Ronald Jonathan Robert Midtdal, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday April 28, 2021, in Red Deer, Alberta.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Leona; his children, Grant (Brenda), Colleen (Bruce), and Delores (Ray); his grandchildren, Dustin (Lisa), Allen (Lori), Lucas, Janine; his great-grandchildren, Kolby & Rowdy; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, Jostein & Esther Midtdal; his siblings, Mildred (Louis), Roy (Catherine), Myrtle, Gordon (Vivian), and Donald. 

Ron was a very active community member and volunteered on numerous boards and councils throughout the years. Above all, he loved to farm, he loved his family, and he loved God.

The funeral will be Wednesday May 12, 2021, at 1:00pm at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta.  Due to Covid restrictions, attendance is limited to family only.  The funeral will be live streamed via the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Wetaskiwin Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/sacredheartwetaskiwin

We would like to invite anyone who wishes to pay their respects to Ron and the family to meet at the Lakedell Agricultural Grounds at around 1:45pm. Following the funeral, the procession will travel through the Lakedell Ag. Grounds before continuing on to The Lakedell Community Cemetery.  We invite everyone to sign the guest book, leave us a note or a favorite memory and receive a funeral card. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Unit 31 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital and Unit 43 of the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre.
