Roger Parker Obituary

In Loving Memory of Roger Kenneth Parker
July 30, 1939 - October 6, 2025

Roger Kenneth Parker passed away on the family farm on October 6, 2025, at the age of 86 years, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on July 30, 1939 in Kelowna, B.C., Roger is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Annie Parker. Together, they were an inseparable team- always there for each other, supporting one another. Their bond was a source of strength, and they were never truly alone, for they always had each other.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Diane (Darin) Cummins; his sons, Kenneth Parker and Paul (Jenine) Parker; grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrea, Ethan, Quincey, Shawn and Danee. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Callies and John Pasemko.

Roger was a man of endless curiosity and determination. Whatever he set his mind to, he pursued with passion and precision. Over the years, he built numerous buildings on the family farm and he taught himself everything from electrical work, plumbing to heating and ventilation- always ensuring everything was done to code and passed all permits. He proudly maintained his own vehicles and farm equipment, often working alongside his sons, Ken and Paul. Roger was always someone to go to, if you had any questions on how to do any project, purchasing anything or fixing anything. His daughter, Diane so appreciated his knowledge and experience.

He loved the outdoors, the farm and the meaningful trips he took to Dunvegan, with his son, Paul and daughter in- law Jenine. One of Roger’s favorite places was his workshop, where he spent countless hours designing and making building improvements-whether for Ken’s boat, trailer, or anything else he believed could be made better.

Roger’s legacy of resilience, craftsmanship, and love of family, will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wetaskiwin Seniors Centre (5216 54 Street, Wetaskiwin).

If desired, donations in Roger’s memory can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society Research (www.cancer.ca), or give a gift card to buy a tree to plant on the family farm in the spring.
