Rick Young was a man known for his independence and unmistakably stubborn streak. While he often kept his distance from others, those who knew him understood that this was simply his way of moving through the world.
Rick spent his life in the world of cattle, as a seasoned cattle buyer. He had an instinct for livestock that few could match, a sharp eye for quality, and a reputation for knowing a good deal when he saw one. The sale barns, the long drives, the quiet negotiations—this was where he felt most at home.
Though he was a private man, he had a genuine connection to the work and the animals that shaped his days. In that world, he found purpose, routine, and a kind of peace that only he fully understood.
Rick will be remembered not for soft edges or warm sentiment, but for living exactly as he chose. His life leaves an imprint on the trade he devoted himself to and on the countless miles traveled in pursuit of the next good herd.
May he be at peace in the serenity he sought.
