Robert Griffin Mayhew

Robert was born to Griffin and Christina Mayhew in Red Deer, Alberta. He is loved by, and was devoted to his wife of 32 years Kimberley; by his three children -  Rob was so very proud to be called Dad: son Shaun (Kristen), son Josh, and daughter Emily (Jeremy) Lawton. Best of all, he was Gramps to Brandt, Chase, Hudson, Briella and Harlow. He was admired and respected by his siblings: Jim (Linda) Mayhew, Gerry Veilleux, Sylvia (Al) Kelm, Linda Motley, Daryl (Lynnette) Mayhew, and Todd (Lee) Mayhew; and brother-in-law Mark (Darci) McLaren. Rob was predeceased by his infant sister Beatrice; parents Griffin and Christina; nephew Brent Kelm; niece Kayla McLaren; mother and father in-law Judy and Alan McLaren; and brothers-in-law George Motley and Grant Veilleux. Rob will be missed by many nieces and nephews; and those who called him Friend.

A skilled craftsman in his sheet metal trade and business, he produced quality work. Rob will be missed by his faithful customers.

Rob loved gardening and pursued self-sufficiency on he and Kimberley’s small homestead. The simple lifestyle, love for God and his family, Rob always had a thankful heart.

Psalm 16:5,6 Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup, you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

We, the family, are grateful to the many, and varied gifts from family and friends. Forever thankful, we express our gratitude to the attentive care from Dr. Greyling, Ponoka Homecare, FCSS and from Ponoka Professional Pharmacy who made it possible for Rob to remain in the comfort of our home surrounded by family and friends until the Lord took him into eternity. We, thank all of you.
