Rita Mary (Froehlich) Fitzpatrick

RITA MARY FITZPATRICK 

Rita Mary Fitzpatrick, aged 98 years, formerly of Marquis, Saskatchewan, passed away on October 19, 2019.  She was predeceased by husband Leo, daughter Leone, sister Dot, and five brothers. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her children Eugene (Gail), Anne (Rich Gossen) and Maureen Johnson, son-in-law Bern Deck, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, sisters Mary (Lynn) Anderson and Leone (Jim) O’Byrne, brother Jim Froehlich, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Rita grew up and lived most of her life in Marquis, Saskatchewan. She trained as a nurse, using her skills to serve her community as well as working at the Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw.  She loved working in her garden and was able to enjoy life on the farm until she was 89.
Rita was an amazing woman who lived her faith every day and inspired others to be more thoughtful, accepting and forgiving.  She made a point of remembering and recognizing the milestones in the lives of family and community members.        
 
The family would like to thank Dr. Lee and the staff at the Wetaskiwin Long Term Care Centre for all of their care and kindness.  Rita’s life in long-term care was greatly enriched by its Recreation Therapy Program.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation - Recreation Therapy Program (6901 47th Street, Wetaskwin, Alberta T9A 3N3).
There will be a private graveside service at the Marquis Cemetery in Saskatchewan. 

As an expression of sympathy, masses may be said in Rita’s name.
