Richard Leroy "Dick" Chambers
1937 ~ 2026
Richard Leroy "Dick" Chambers was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, on August 2, 1937, and passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 88 years.
Dick was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, and above all, spending time with his family. A gifted carpenter, Dick took great pride in his craftsmanship and was always willing to lend a helping hand. One of his happiest places was his RV lot, where he enjoyed countless memories with family and friends, and he especially looked forward to golfing at Dorchester Golf Course.
Dick shared a deep and enduring love with his beloved wife, Marie, and cherished every moment they spent together. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the centre of his world, and nothing brought him greater happiness than family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and time together. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and the legacy of hard work and generosity he leaves behind.
Dick is lovingly remembered by his children, Rick (Bernice), David, and Georgette (Kim) Hagstrom; his grandchildren, Jesse (Sarah), Jeff (Mona), Angela, Jennifer, Makayla (Chris), Bailey (Morgan), Katie, Lukas (Kelsey), and Sarah (Sean); his 16 great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry; his step-brother, Dennis Erickson; brother-in-law, Lorne Hagstrom as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie; his parents, William "Bill" and Lila Chambers; his grandson, Matthew Hagstrom; his great-grandson, Gideon Chambers; his siblings, Alvin, Dolly Hagstrom, Lyle, and Fred; and his step-sister, Sharon Erickson.
Respecting Dick's wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Roseland Cemetery. A service to celebrate Dick's life will be held at a later date.
In memory of Dick, donations are gratefully accepted to the Wetaskiwin Hospital Foundation.
Dick's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shared in his life and offered their love and support. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
