Randy was born to parents Wilfred and Grace White. Randy received all of his education in Ponoka. As he’d never lost his love for learning, he later returned to school to achieve his high school diploma. In the 70's, he moved to Red Deer to work at Michener Center as a health care aide. This is where he met Marlene Barton and later they married. On June 7, 1979, they were blessed with their only child, a son, they named Colby Dylan. In 1982 they moved to Nanaimo, B.C. Eventually Randy moved back to Ponoka.
For many years he was employed as a custodian in the local schools, and later as a guard at the Ponoka RCMP detachment. Unfortunately, Randy’s health left him unable to work. He spent his days quietly doing the things he enjoyed most. He loved listening to music, watching old, classic movies, reading books, and especially writing poetry. He also loved to spend time with his friends and family, having a good, and often, humorous conversation over a cold beer.
Randy was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Grace; three brothers: Wayne, Bradley, and Johnny. He is survived by his son Colby; one granddaughter Sophia Grace White; and one grandson Von Randall White; siblings Marlene (Jill) Byers, Roger White, Bob (Deb) White, Myrna (Jim) Smith, Luellyn White, and Bev White; many nieces and nephews; as well as many friends - new and old. And lastly (as he jokingly referred to) his “no account cat,” Sarah. She gave him many years of loyal companionship.
