Phillip Trevor Beck Obituary

Phillip Trevor Beck
February 12, 1947 - November 20, 2024

With great sadness we announce the passing of Trevor Beck in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, on November 20, 2024 at the age of 77 years.

Trevor was born and raised in Grantham, England the oldest of three boys to William and May Beck.

Upon finishing school, he did an apprenticeship and attended college to become a welder. He and his brothers had their own fabrication shop until emigrating to Canada in 1976. Once in Canada, he worked as a welder and heavy duty mechanic travelling frequently to northern Canada, Europe and Russia.

In his youth, Trevor enjoyed the outdoors participating in Scouts, fishing and swimming. In his teens, motorcycles became a passion and many weekends were spent racing sidecars. In Canada a favourite hobby was horseback riding, canoeing and camping. He always preferred to be outdoors keeping busy, usually in the garage or garden.

Trevor met Barb in 1975, when she was travelling in England. He emigrated to Canada in June 1976, and they married in July of 1976. They raised two daughters, Melanie and Rachel.

Trevor had many medical challenges for the last 30 years. He always maintained his dry sense of humour and unique singing style. He wore out many wheelchair tires getting his exercise rolling up and down the sidewalks. He loved to hear about his daughters' adventures and enjoyed his coffee sessions with his son-in-law.

The grandchildren have fond memories of his adventures in cooking, his teasing and his willingness to offer mechanical advice.  He greatly loved his grandkids and was so very proud of them and their achievements.

Trevor will be deeply missed by his wife, Barb; his daughters, Melanie (Michael) Krause and Rachel Beck; grandchildren, Adam, Lauren and Ryan Krause; brothers, Dennis (Hilary) Beck and Kenneth (Jane) Beck as well as nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Trevor was predeceased by his father and mother, William and May Beck; in-laws, Don and Ev MacKay, and niece, Kerri Dickau.

As per Trevor's wishes, there will be no funeral.  A memorial will be held at a later date.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to The War Amps (2827 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 0C4)
