Phillip is survived by his mom, Barbra Lightning; dad, Michael Skani; daughters, Jalisse Lightning and Nihtaya Lightning-Bull; sisters Scarlett Faye Lightning, Sheena Lightning (Waylon), Nadine Yellowbird (Romeo); brothers Donald Yellowbird (Cherise), James Yellowbird (Sandra), Jamison Yellowbird (Valerie).

Phillip is predeceased by his little brother Jerome Lightning; cousins Samantha Lightning and Gerald Lightning; Grandmother Louise Lightning; Great Grandparents Phillip Lightning, Cecilea Yellowbird-Lightning, Jerome Skani, Percy Williams, Mary Yellowbird, Jimmy Yellowbird and Stanley Yellowbird.
