With tremendous sadness, the family of Peter Langelle share the news of his sudden passing, on September 18th, 2021.

We would like to express our overwhelming gratitude to Dr. Moolla, and all of the incredible doctors, nurses and staff at the Wetaskiwin Hospital, STARS & the U of A Hospital. 

Peter had a long and distinguished career in healthcare, throughout it serving as the Executive Director of the Wetaskiwin Hospital as well as various National, Provincial and Local senior executive positions. He was the Board Chair of the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation, President of the Alberta Hospital Association, CEO of the Crossroads Regional Health Authority, and was instrumental in building the Wetaskiwin Hospital in 1991. Peter moved to MaMeO Beach with his wife Shirley on his retirement, and was involved in the village council for 14+ years.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter & Elsie, and survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley; son, Perry; daughter, Jolene and grandchildren, Annika & Sebastian.

Peter: You are irreplaceable. We celebrate your life, your contributions to the health care industry, to the community of Wetaskiwin & MaMeO Beach, and most of all to your family. We will miss your big caring personality, your great sense of humour, and we thank you for being the best husband, father, and grandfather ever. We only wish we had more time with you. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Peter to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation or to STARS. 

Cremation has taken place, and private family memorial will be held.
