Obituary

Otto Zerbe was born on November 25, 1931 in Bryszcze, Wolyn, Poland.

It is with heavy hearts that Otto’s family announce his passing on August 31, 2023 in Ponoka.

He will always be fondly remembered, forever loved, and cherished by his family. Otto farmed east of Ponoka with his wife Linda and their three children.

Otto is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda; son Stephen (Diana) and grandsons Chad and Matthew; daughter Lynette Hazelwood, grandson Nathan (Taylor) Zerbe and great-grandchildren Jayden and Oaklyn, and grandson Nicholas (Amanda) Hazelwood and great-grandchildren Ty and Hannah; and son Darren, grandson Brandon (Raelynn), and granddaughter Kaitlynn. He is also survived by his sisters Gerda Kiel, Lil (Rueben) Hickman, and Adeline Hanert; brothers-in-law Rudolph Litke and Ed Peterson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Emil and Elsie; brothers Arnold, Ed, and Paul; sister Erna Litke; sister-in-law Alice; brother-in-law Gerry Hanert; mother-in-law Doris Howell; and sister-in-law Lois Peterson.

In keeping with his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.
