Orvilla (Val) Louise Currie (nee Harper)
Val passed away on December 28, 2025 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta at the age of 94. She was born on March 24, 1931 in Drumheller Alberta.
Val was one of six siblings raised by their grandmother (Nan-Nan) after their mother Grace's passing at an early age. They lived in Dupre and Bonnyville before moving to Edmonton where Val met her future husband, Hugh. Val and Hugh were married for 66 years until his passing in 2017.
In their early years with Hugh's hockey career, they moved often while raising their three children. They spent their retirement years on their acreage near Ma-Me-O Beach.
Val was pre-deceased by her husband, Hugh; daughter, Darcy; brother, Richard and sister, Dolores.
Val is survived by her daughter, Debra (Brian); son, Rick; sister, Della; brothers, Terry (Chris) and Bruce; grandchildren, Keltie, Sean, Reid; great-grandchildren, Keili, Kaden, Ophelia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
May Val rest in peace now that she is once again with her beloved 'Hughie'.
