Myrna Kay (Stanger) Henderson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myrna Kay Henderson, also affectionately known as Dollie.

She passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 82 with her husband and daughter by her side.  Myrna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Cliff; her daughter Andrea (Grant); grandchildren Mitchell and Meggie; her sisters Claudia (Mike) and Lorene (Drew); nieces Lindsey and Tracey; and nephew Michael.  She was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Clarence and her sister Patricia Ann. 

Myrna was born in Twin Falls Idaho February 3rd, 1943. She graduated from Hansen High School and went on to the University of Idaho where she studied Education and met her husband, Cliff.  Her and Cliff were married in 1965 in Ponoka.  Cliff had a career in Forestry that led them to live many places, starting with Fort McMurray in 1966, Rocky Mountain House where their daughter Andrea was born, Leduc, High Level, Whitecourt and Sherwood Park making many lifelong friends along the way.  After Cliff retired, they moved to Ponoka in 2008 to be closer to their grandchildren. 

She was a dedicated teacher’s aide with a passion for children.  Her love for crafting brought joy to so many whether it was through her sewing, paper toll, calligraphy, special Christmas cards or those cherished raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. 

The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the Ponoka Long Term Care staff for the outstanding care and compassion she received there.

Myrna’s funeral will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025.  The service will be livestream broadcast and recorded - the video viewer is located below.
