Michael Jerry Hackman

December 16, 1943 - March 18, 2026

Jerry was born, raised, and married in Edmonton, Alberta. He moved to Wetaskiwin in 1977. He had many delivery jobs as a young man. In his 30s, he started as an aircraft refueler at Edmonton International Airport. He retired after 29 years and all sorts of weather. He spent the next two years working for the County of Wetaskiwin. Jerry loved the outdoors, and while living in Edmonton, he took up golfing and started fishing with his brother and their families. While living in both cities, the family did a fair amount of camping. Jerry’s brother, Jim, followed him to Wetaskiwin, and both families did a lot of camping and fishing together.

He is survived by his loving and loved wife of 61 years, Pat; son, Clint (Renetta); daughter, Angela; sister, Audrey (Doug) Jarvis; sisters-in-law, Liz (Wayne) Saboe and Sharon Hackman; grandson Ryan (Kelsey); granddaughter Jaclyn; and great-grandchildren Rhyan and Luna; numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Rita; his brothers, Bill, Jim, and Don; and his sister, Mary Ann Melnyk.

Jerry did not wish to have a funeral or memorial service.
