Marie Alice Lindahl
January 6, 1938 - February 19, 2026
Marie was born in Thorsby, Alberta on January 6, 1938 to Oscar and Florence Lindahl of Calmar, Alberta.
The Lindahl family moved to the Wetaskiwin area in 1945.
Marie attended school in Calmar then Wetaskiwin. While in high school in Wetaskiwin, Marie was part of Inter School Christian Fellowship (ISCF) and the school Glee Club.
When Marie was finished high school, she began working at Wetaskiwin Treasury Branch and continued until her retirement 41 years later. She was the bank manager’s assistant.
Marie became involved in her church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, at a young age, beginning with the girls’ club - Girls Missionary Guild (GMG) and Sunday School.
Marie became a member of her church and served in many capacities - GMG leader, Sunday school teacher, singing in a ladies group, playing the piano and more.
Her travels took her to many places in Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Israel. A favorite was Norway - the birthplace of her dad. She enjoyed cruising the coast of Norway, visiting the small villages along the way.
At home she enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, embroidery and other needlework. She loved to experiment with food and her guests were often the first ones to taste her delicious creations.
Marie went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 19, 2026.
Marie was predeceased by her dad and mom, Oscar and Florence and her sister, Lillian.
She is survived by her sister Vicki (Roy) Cust of Spruce Grove, Alberta.
A graveside service was held on February 26, 2026 at the Wetaskiwin (Old) Cemetery.
