Margitta Martha (Jungherr) Wahlmann

Margitta Martha Christel Wahlmann (née Jungherr), born on August 31, 1944, in Langenhagen, Kreis Greifenberg (today Poland), passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, at the age of 81.

Margitta was the beloved daughter of Martha Maria Magdalena and Otto Friedrich Gustav Jungherr, and a cherished sister to brothers Ortwin Jungherr and Ulrich Jungherr, and sister Monika Sieboldt (née Jungherr). She spent her early years in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1976, beginning a new chapter of life in the Alberta prairies.

For most of her adult life, Margitta made her home in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, a place she cherished deeply for its natural beauty, sense of community, and peaceful surroundings.

She was a devoted mother to her three daughters: Sabine Parsons (former husband Clarence), Simone Bredlow (Paul), and Sandra Young (Shaun). She was a proud and loving Oma to Dillon Parsons, Grace Bredlow, Abigail Bredlow, Cameron Young, and Samara Young. Margitta’s family was her greatest joy, and her influence, kindness, and quiet strength will continue to live on in them.

Margitta found solace and happiness in the natural world. She loved gardening, animals, and the outdoors, and could often be found tending to her plants or enjoying the simple beauty of nature. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and deep appreciation for life’s small gifts touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and close friends will gather for a small celebration of life to honor Margitta. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margitta’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories, in support of a cause close to her and her family.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered with love.
