Margaret Rose Williams passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Red Deer, Alberta.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Jean (Chuck); her children Dixie (Lawrence), James (Aileen), Robert (Alex), Karen (Tim), Pat (Brian), Roy, and Kathy; and her more than 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Jaremchuk; siblings Fred and Helen; and her husband Bruce.
Margaret was born in Coronation, Alberta on March 8, 1940, where she spent her childhood. She was living in Edmonton, Alberta when she met the love of her life, Bruce Williams. They settled on a dairy farm outside of Ponoka, where they raised their family.
In her 40’s, Margaret turned her love of helping people into a career as a social worker and began working at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury. She dedicated many years of service to those in need and retired at the age of 78 years.
To Margaret, family was the centre of her existence, and everyone became family as soon as they entered her home. Margaret was focused on hospitality and always put others first. She cultivated a home full of joy and laughter, especially for those who had no other place to go.
Everyone is welcome to a Celebration of Life for Margaret on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Margaret’s home.
In lieu of flowers, Margaret requested donations be made to the S.T.A.R.S Air Ambulance.
