Margaret Gladys McGregor (nee Styles)

August 21, 1929 - February 25, 2021

Margaret passed away quietly on the morning of February 25th with her loving husband of 70 years, Jim, at her side.  A city girl she came to love the country life where she and Jim raised their five children, Jim (Harriet), Kevin, Maureen (Bill), Kathryn (David) and Emmett (Anita).  More than anything she loved being with children, especially her grandchildren Jennifer (Daniel), Erin (Darryl), Connor (Taya), Ben (Kate), Lynette (Jim), Jenn (Garret) and great-grandchildren Olivia, Myles, Jorja, Andrew,  Wyatt and Cyrus.

Margaret was a very happy homemaker but at the age of 40 when all the kids were in school she decided to take on a new challenge, pursuing her passion to teach and went back to university to get her education degree.  She taught grade one at OLPH in Sherwood Park, grade 4 at Jean Vanier and finally Junior High. She was known as a compassionate, caring teacher.

Some of the family’s favourite memories are surely around their home at Ma-Me-O Beach.  The children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many family friends have fond memories of happy days at the lake with Margaret. 

We will miss Margaret, her sense of humour, her love for people and her zest for life.

A private family service will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at Ma-Me-O Beach.
