Lynn Sharon Kijewski was born on June 6, 1944 in Red Deer, Alberta and entered into rest on January 11, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 76 after a long struggle with COPD. Lynn was the fourth born out of 11 children to Jerome and Ellen (Nellie) Mulrooney.
Lynn spent 57 years with her husband, Henry Kijewski. On April 28, 1962 they were married at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta. They built their life on the Kijewski family farm near Falun, Alberta where they raised their four children.
Lynn enjoyed gardening, preserving all kinds of food, crocheting, sewing clothes for herself and the family, and took pride in the family farm. She loved to have company and welcomed anyone to her table for a home cooked meal and a few hands of cards. She loved watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and making sure they were spoiled.
Lynn is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Judy Foster, Cathy Lauzon, Debbie Mulrooney; and Brother, Terry Mulrooney; sisters-in-law, Theresa, Audrey, Pearl, Cindy and Marie; children, Michael (April MacDonald), Wanda Dawson (Darin Cyre), Darryl (Tammie), and Leanne Fedrau (Eric); and former daughter-in-law, Dawn Berg; former son-in-law, Darryl Dye; grandchildren, Shawn Dye (Lisa), Amber Dawson, Brandon, Danica, Tyler, Lacie, Rae-Ann Walker (Tyler), Chelsea Fedrau; and great-granddaughter, Brooke Roberts; and Brooke’s mom, Ebony; and great-grandson, Dylan Dye; and her very special boys, Ron Cooper (Miranda Sips) and Ken Schmidt (Dorothy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and many friends.
Lynn is predeceased by her husband, Henry; grandson, Justin Kijewski; parents, Jerome and Ellen Mulrooney; brothers, Bob, Pat, Jack, Don and Doug; and her sister, Carol; sister-in-law, Mary-Anne; brothers-in-law, Rod Gordon, Ken Foster and Jim Lauzon; and former son-in-law David Dawson.
The family will have a private service for her, and then an interment to celebrate her life, will be held at a later date.
