Lucille Kathleen (Scott) Denham

It is with love and gratitude for a beautiful life well lived that we announce the passing of Lucille Kathleen Denham (Scott).

Lucille was born on September 21, 1936 in Innisfail, Alberta, to parents, Louie and Kay Scott. She spent her childhood on a farm just outside of Innisfail, where she developed a deep and lifelong passion for the land, nature and animals. Her parents nurtured in her an appreciation for the beauty of the natural world that remained with her throughout her life. Twelve years after Lucille's birth, her beloved sister, Pearl, joined the family, and the Scott's later moved into town.

Lucille, more affectionately known as Lucy and Grammie to all, married the love of her life, Hugh Denham December 14, 1954. Together they began an adventure that took them through Alberta's oil fields, living in a small trailer and building a life grounded in love, resilience and hard work. After welcoming their daughter, Shelley, the family continued their travels before eventually settling in Wetaskiwin, which became their home for many years. Music was one of Lucy's greatest gifts and joys. Blessed with a beautiful voice, she was often called upon to sing solos and special performances. One of her family's most treasured memories is of Lucy singing 'The Lord's Prayer' at Shell and Ron's wedding - a moment filled with love, grace, and the warmth that defined her life.

Lucy found happiness in simple pleasures: the beauty of nature, the companionship of animals, and time spent with those she loved. Above all else, family was the center of her world. This was especially evident when her adored grandsons were born. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.

Lucy leaves behind her daughter Shelley (Ron); sister, Pearl; grandsons, Nick (Laurel), Jordan (Jill), and Quinn (Jamie) and six great-grandchildren: Beckett, Harper, Rory, Cameron, Chloe and Taylor, who were blessed to know and love her. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Hugh, and her parents, Louie and Kay.

Her memory will live on in nature, music, the love she shared, and the countless lives she enriched.

A private family service has been held.
