Honouring the Life of
Linda Noreen Christie
April 13, 1949-November 16, 2024
The sudden passing of Linda Noreen Christie on November 16, 2024 has left an unfillable void in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew her. She was our beloved mom, Nana, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Linda was born in Edmonton on April 13, 1949 to Patricia and Alvin Watt. Some of her childhood was spent in Nanton before moving to the Pipestone area, where she attended Pipestone School and Pigeon Lake Regional High School and met her husband David Christie. She went to business school in Edmonton to become an administrative assistant and began work with social services before marrying David on December 7, 1968 at the Mulhurst United Church. She
then spent her time being a full-time mom, and eventually an administrative assistant for the Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools. Linda spent her life creating memories with family and friends, whether at Disneyland, Disneyworld or Indio, California.
She will be lovingly remembered, and is survived by her sons James Christie (Jamie Magee), Jerad Christie (Tammy Musiowsky-Borneman), and daughter Jen Christie (Ray McCoy); grandchildren Brock (Courtney) Berger, Dayne (Amber) Livingston, Montanna (René-Michel) Barrette, Brody Christie (Kierra Wuzinski), Kealey Greydanus and Mariah McCoy; great-grandchildren Easton and Isabella Berger, Olivia Livingston and Oakley Barrette; brother Dennis Watt as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her husband David Christie, parents Alvin and Patricia Watt, and brother Wayne Watt. She is also survived by best friends who are family Rick and Georgee Klein and Chico, Sallie Klein, Jorey and Meghan Klein; and Pamela Livingston.
One of her greatest joys was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hosting family get-togethers, and being with friends. Many hours were happily occupied by her love of baking, playing cards and other games, as well as her other favorite hobby of shopping in Spokane. She was adored by many and will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin. This service will be livestreamed at the link below. A time for refreshments and sharing of memories will follow at the Best Western Wayside Inn (4103 56 Street, Wetaskiwin).
