Leslie Dave Sayler

Pastor Les Sayler was born to Emmanuel and Emma Sayler on March 29, 1940, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. He was one of nine children in this union. He was known to be a very welcoming and loving individual through his life and ministry. Pastor “Les” was raised on a farm in Fox Valley Saskatchewan, He was a farmer and teacher in his earlier years then entered the ministry in the early 70’s. He has pastored in both Alberta and British Columbia, as well as Evangelised internationally. He had a passion for music and has played many different types of instruments such as pan flute, various saxaphones, harmonicas, accordion, and the saw. He even made an instrument out of a carrot. He also had hobbies such as painting, drawing, scroll saws, wood lathing and gardening. The farm life has always been a part of his life in some way: He enjoyed riding horses for many years of his life, had numerous dogs, and in his last year of life he also had chickens and sheep.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his eight siblings, Leo, Walter, Vern, Viola, Deloris, Abbey, Gladys, Goldie, his first wife and mother of his children Mildred and his son Vaughn.

To cherish his memory he leaves three daughters: Melody (Douglas), Jacqueline (Michael), Lenora (Dwayne); six grandchildren: Thomas, Crystal, Schaun, Jennifer, Brittnei, Robert, and Alyssa; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, sister-in-law Bernice, Esther and other friends.

A Celebration of Life for Pastor “Les” will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Lacombe, Alberta on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life and light lunch to follow at the Lacombe Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5804 45 Avenue, Lacombe, Alberta T4L 1M6.
