Leone Doreen Pezderic

On September 1st 2020, one day shy of her 81st birthday, our dear mother, Leone Pezderic passed away at her home, the Points West Care Facility in Wetaskiwin Alberta.
Leone was the light of our family universe. She will be forever remembered for her contagious positive attitude and unconditional love for family and friends. She is survived by her son, Kerry (Darlene); their son, Justin (Carmen); great- grandchild, Charley; and their son,  Zack (Caitlyn); son, Dean (Megan); their children, Paige and James Dean; daughter, Michelle (Tim); their children, Kennedy and Jackson; as well as brother, Clarence (Carrie) Hodgson.
Leone was an enthusiastic matriarch for our family. She was passionate about her family and their wide variety of activities, often calling out “Way to go!” during hockey games, music performances, dance shows, baseball games and art projects. She loved music and knew the lyrics to every old-time country song, often joyfully tapping her foot along. She sure did love watching Heartland on TV. She also loved smoking a cigarette and watching the geese at By-The-Lake Park. Her life was simple and sweet and she reminded us of all the joy the little things in this world could bring.
Leone was predeceased by her husband, Gene; parents, Elsie and David “Jiggs” Hodgson; and brother, David Hodgson.
In respect for the current Covid 19 pandemic the family will be holding a private gathering at a later date.
