On February 22, 2026 Clara Leone Kellett of Ponoka passed away at the Royal Oak Village in Lacombe at the age of 86 years.
Leone will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Wanda Kellett Stretch (Mike); grandchildren Sheldon Stretch (Cheyenne) and Kendyl Drews (Morgan), and Jared Burton (Kaitlyn); her brother Gord Peel (Sharon); brother-in-law Donald Kellett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her spouse David Kellett; her son Kevin Kellett; her parents Howard and Mildred Peel; brothers Emmerson (Yvonne) Peel and Lloyd (Lois) Peel; and her sister Olive (Frank) Jackson.
Leone moved to Alberta after retiring from Chrysler Canada in 1996. She worked in the automotive industry for 40 years where she met some great people and had many hours of laughs as well as work. Leone worked at the Ponoka Auction Market Café on Wednesdays for many years, meeting lots of wonderful people who became friends outside of the Market. She met so many wonderful people once she moved to Ponoka and kept herself busy socializing and going to bingo.
Leone loved her grandchildren and was always exceptionally proud of them. Family and long-time friends meant so much to her and she kept in touch on a regular basis.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Forest Home Cemetery, Ponoka.
