LeRoy Mack Hirschkorn

LeRoy Mack Hirschkorn , 88, son of Ezra and Marguerite, was born on September 12, 1933. After a few months of battling with cancer, LeRoy went to rest peacefully at home on November 24, 2021, with a strong faith in a soon reunion with family and with Jesus as He has promised. 

“For the Lord himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

LeRoy is lovingly remembered as a faithful, kind, and wise husband, father, grandparent, and great-grandparent by his wife Georgia; his children Merlin, Lynette, Darwin, and Byron; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sisters Beverly and Rita. He was predeceased by the mother of his children, Eleanor; his daughter Ennette; and his siblings James and Patricia.

Due to the current restrictions, a private Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Ponoka Funeral Home. The service will be live-stream broadcast at service time and the recording will remain on this obituary page for 90 days.  The video viewer is located at the bottom of this page.

The Interment Service will follow at the Ponoka Forest Home in Cemetery. There will be no luncheon following the service (due to the current restrictions). 

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made in LeRoy’s name to Adventist World Radio.
