Kathleen Caroline Throop of Bashaw passed away at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre on November 2, 2024 at the age of 90 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ben (Kathy) Throop of Camrose; daughter Carolyn (Bob) Brown of Lacombe and granddaughter Chelsey (Kurtis) Hawkins; son Darren Throop (Tish Brennan) of Toronto and granddaughters Sophie and Caroline; daughter Julie Throop of Red Deer, grandson Jesse Rehbein (Jessica), grandson Kody Rehbein and great-grandson Leander, and granddaughter Jayde Rehbein; her siblings Virginia Johnston, Joe (Gerry) Fillinger, Martha Newton, and Violet (Ted) Lewis; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Dennis; her brother Charlie Fillinger; and her sister Marjorie Gramlich.
Kathleen’s warmth and compassion touched everyone she met. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, and most recently great-grandmother always finding joy in their achievements and being a steadfast supporter. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those she touched.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Bashaw on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. The Interment Service will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
